you're looking for the HOSTS file, it blocks websites that are considered parasites, it helps you tighten your security under IE.

go to:

http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm

then scroll down a little, and you should find this one:

Quote:
www.mvps.org
• Download: hosts.zip [right-click - Select: Save Target As] [Updated 11-03-05]
download hosts.zip then extract it to your Desktop. After that open the folder for your OS.

Windows XP = C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC
Windows 2K = C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC
Win 98/ME = C:\WINDOWS

if you're XP, you should open this one C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC, now once you're in that folder, get the extracted file from the zip and then just drag and drop it in the folder, this will ask you if you want to replace the "old" HOSTS file, click Yes.
