A Christmas Thank-You Poem for All You Volunteers!! A Christmas Thank-You Poem for Technical Support Forum Volunteers: Viva la Volunteers!!
Late 'pon many midnights dreary
Wrists protesting, eyesight bleary
Special people ponder queries
That persons of a lessor sort
Would likely just ignore
For the answers they are seeking
Allay no problem of their wreaking
In fact, 'tis others who are freaking
Out about their PC's creaking,
Bleeping, snarl or snore
"Nay Care the quandary's not my own!
They've put me in their Trusted Zone,
They'll not face their PCs alone,
How dost one turn warm heart to stone,
When forum posts implore?"
Thus speaks: The Support Volunteer
Who's selflessness we should revere
Who's time and skill we should think dear
Who give and don't keep score
So as we're flush with Christmas Spirit(s)
Let's raise our eggnogs and let's hear it
Boot your 'putes and then just cheer it
(And donate to do more)
Viva la Volunteer!!
PCs worry nevermore.
Yeah, I know its goofy and I'm no Poe, but I was up early wrapping Christmas presents today and I got to thinking about how much detailed help I'd gotten here over the last year and how much it would have cost me, if I even could have gotten it all, elsewhere. I still can't believe this site is run by volunteers (really, I can't believe it) just because I've seen the ENORMOUS amount of time spent by individuals who must have jobs, families, LIVES and how they can squeeze this in strictly as a volunteer - well, it seems next to impossible. However, if it really is true.. and you people do this out of the kindness of your hearts...I'm blown away by your generosity. So since I can never answer anyone's tech questions (successfully) and I can't donate much I thought I'd Google a poem for volunteers. After skimming a few, I thought, I could write one that nice, and fortunately, ( or unfortunately , depending on how you look at it ) the " I-feel-like-writing-something-goofy-bug " bit me.
Anyhow, really appreciate the help I've gotten here. Merry Christmas Everyone and God Bless. SD.
