now, now, let's not go comparing dandelions to roses. Asimov, Heinlein, Sheckley, those guys are in a class of themselves. Funny you should bring that up, as I usually have a novel or 5 percolating somewhere in this box, and then I read something by, say, Robbins or Pynchon and realize those guys are playing a whole different game than I am, and all I can do is sit back and enjoy.

Sort of what I would imagine golfing with Tiger would be like. Whole different game.

It is rare and I mean rare that I have to go in for a bump. A good salesman will set the deal up right in the first place. That said, I also know what my dealership will or won't sell the car for so if the offer isn't where it needs to be I tell the customer he won't be buying the car. It's that simple. I have worked in places where I've had to run back and forth and it's part of the game. That's the way people buy cars and in most cases it's expected. Those places are usually the larger stores and I work in a real tiny, tiny one so the rules are different. Oh one more thing. Because it's a small store I am privy to cost in most cases.

Wimpy as a gal I'm actually real good at bartering for a car... I know that if I look at the end of the month I will get a bargain as that is when the sales staff bonus goes in and they practically give them away... I'm proud of my buying techniques which have always stood me in good stead.. I know all the right questions to ask and I then I know how to deal
