My brother looks better every time I see him! What a blessing this has been. We don't know if he will be home for Christmas or not yet, he is healing well and slowly. The main thing is he is still here with us! All else can be looked after in time. Yo are on my Christmas wish list Dave!

Good mornin' everyone ..... just a little update, I went for blood work on Thursday and had the results Friday - CMV - negative! White blood count up to 8! Because the Valcyte med for the CMV was put on hold a few weeks ago and this blood test showed negative the Doctors told me to stop taking the Valcyte ~ I'm a little reluctant, but time will tell. For some reason my spirometer numbers are down today so I will have to keep a check on that. I have a bit of a "bark" but just once in a while???

My brother is still in the hospital awaiting what the doctors are going to do with him!!!!! There is talk about shipping him to Hamilton/ probably McMaster Medical Center (but I could be wrong - it has happened once to twice before) We just celebrated his birthday on Dec 28th! This was a true blessing for all he has been through this last while and we are truly grateful. Have a great day everyone! I'm just heading to my Dad's to go to the hospital with him to see my brother.

off and on I follow this thread and pray for Sooky.
But today was the first time I noticed her writing about her brother going maybe to McMaster, I am just wondering if he is there and hope he will be helped, I drive by there daily to work and will send a prayer to God to help him.The doctors at Mac have helped me several times with my health problems.
What a small world. Ontario is big, but Hamilton is where I work and live now. All the best to you and your brother Sooky, wonder if we ever passed each other ?

Thanks for the prayers and response, bp936 ..... No, my brother is not at McMaster yet? No decisions have been made; probably because of the holidays etc. - there is also talk of him being discharged so time will tell. I'm an hour away from Hamilton in the Niagara Peninsula - Welland, actually. My daughter was helped at McMaster 15 years ago when she fractured her arm just above the growth bone; the staff, doctors and surgeons were fantastic to us all.
Thankfully her arm did grow properly after that. I had one of my respirologists at St. Josephs until I was transfered over to the respirologists at Toronto General. I've been very fortunate will all the doctors and specialists I have had in my journey! Glad you posted!
Keep well.

good to hear nothing bad happened. Welland is not far, I am in Dundas, working in Hamilton. sooky, all the best. we are so lucky to have good hospitals around us. St.Joe's is an excellent hospital too, my kinds were born there.
It is so nice to hear how many people pray for you and your family.I fell like I might just start belonging here after so many years of reading techguy. I got lots of help here and hope I helped some.

Hi CCM ............ thanks for stopping by and adding a posting! I like your new avitar!

Hi bp936 ....... the Respirology Dept. at St. Joe's was on the maternity floor at one time while they built the newest Firestone Clinic. I feel very fortunate to have stumbled into such a great web site as Tech S Guy and met such great people. They have been a great source of support too.
