Latest update...
16 March 06, 2007 at 07:17 AM EST

Hi All,

I am feeling wonderful. Still on a 2or 3 painkillers a day and a tylenol throught the night if I need it; but things are healing nicely.
I had clinic yesterday again, and my pft's are up again, and the Dr.'s etc. are very pleased! If they are pleased, I'm pleased!
I have another bronc coming up "soon". But I won't go there!
I am very pleased with my progress at physio too. I'm back to 20 minutes on the treadmill with 7 minutes of my end speed at 1.1 ....
for now. I'm doing 20 minutes on the bike also.
Yes, I'm a little anal about wearing a "mask" through the hospital etc., but after cold and flu season, I'm sure I will lighten up.... or when I'm ready!
I don't want to forget to mention my gratitude to my Donar family for the this gift I was given.

There is only one thing on a sadder note/ I have not even wanted a "coffee" since my transplant? I've tried a few time to enjoy a mouthful ......... but it isn't there? I'll keep you posted! HaHa!

* Hugs Luanne

Thanks again to TSG friends for all the well wishes/ pictures/ flowers + the lovely fruit basket looks really good! Just what I need!
The 3 days a week to Toronto is not getting any easier yet, it just tires me right out. I don't have energy for much else. My son just arrived, must go.
* Hugs to all and thanks!

Hi, Luanne

Im 15 and had a heart transplant June of 2005. The mask thing can get really annoying especially how you can feel the heat from your breath Anyway I had to wear a mask for 6 months after transplant in the hospital and 3 months outside. Luckily it was in the summer so school wasn't an issue. My original diagnoses was LTGA when i was born. I became really sick and had pulmanary hypertension secondary(Fluid in lungs) got that takingcare of and was listed. 9 days listed and they had found a donor. I had a speedy recovery within a month i was out. No problems with rejection and everythings fine. Hope all is well with you and got to love Oxycontin
