3 years of marriage...and I need a gift!
My hubby and I are coming up on 3 years of marriage on the 30th....problem is, I don't know of a gift. I found THIS, but I just bought him a wallet not that long ago as a "congrats on the new job gift"....(and he really needed a new one anyway, his old one was falling apart and too big for his slacks--it was more suited to his wranglers.)

I know that he's going to combine gifts for anniversary/birthday for me, but I need something for him.....last year I did a "scavenger hunt" where I was the prize (Even bought some new clothes for the occasion!) , but we don't have the space or the person to watch the kiddo for that sort of thing. ARG!!! What are some suggestions you guys have?

Well, no need to buy an amazing gift! Why don't you surprise him with a sexy outfit, a great meal, good wine, candles, and a err... very hot evening? You need to end up routine and find something to make him feel desirable to strenghten your love. What do you reckon?
It's just my humble French contribution though...

Good question FG

Anniversaries are different than B'days for sure. They have to show love, so farm implements aren't the way to go.

If it was for me, I'd say: Abu Garcia Cardinal 600ALB reel with a Fish Eagle II rod {{giddy up}}

Nothing says love like a new rod and reel combo

You're in the right area...leather. Already bought a wallet so...
you're a farmgirl, how about a cow? Maybe wear something the size of a wallet...in leather, of course.

LOL! My hubby would probably say that nothing says love like....well, you get the idea... No, actually, he'd probably be absolutely thrilled if I got him a toy tractor to add to his collection, but we don't have anywhere to put it in our clown car apartment.

Yes, cattle are SUPER sexy!! LOL! They are also just a bit out of the budget right now.

Hmmmmmm....so you think something teeny in leather would be a good gift? *rubs chin thoughtfully* I'll keep it in mind.

I've considered cooking him a romantic dinner, but we only have the bare necessities in the kitchen here--the rest of my cooking stuff is in a trailer waiting for us to buy a bigger house (which is driving me crazy!)....and I don't have the room to prepare anything more elaborate than pre-made foods and casseroles that don't require any major prep work.

In all seriousness, the gift is probably going to have to be something more appropriate, because we don't have a babysitter and munchkin will be around. (Not that he's old enough to carry real memories yet, but just the same...)

Well, I went the practical route....my hubby had been needing a floor jack for a loooooooooong time, so I bought him one for an anniversary present. I'm also going to do some cooking for the event as well.

Menu: Spaghetti w/cheesy bread for lunch & Marinated steaks, corn on the cob, and twice baked potatoes for supper.

Nothing overly spectacular compared to what I've done in the past, but like I said before--we've only got the bare necessities here as far as cooking stuff goes. I hope he likes it.

Just bring Munchkin over to my house...he can play with my grandkids and spend the night...but you have to come get him in the morning

Hubby just knowing that you love and care about him will be enough...sometimes events can't be as spectacular as we would like but it can still be in our hearts. We had many anniversaries in our younger years spent with the kids. But just knowing we love each other and were together meant a lot.

Thank you for reminding me; my hubby needs a new floor jack. Ours broke a few weeks ago Buying something he wants and or needs shows that you have been paying attention to what he has been saying.

Your lunch and dinner meals sound great.

Well, we didn't get steaks after all....our grill is broken and I was unaware of this fact (until lunchtime--thank goodness I hadn't started the steaks to marinating!!). It's OK though...we had a campbell's chicken dinner thingy that was pretty good.

Otherwise, everything went according to plan, my hubby adores his gift (I haven't gotten mine yet--it's a combo b-day/anniversary gift) the food was excellent, we opened a bottle of champagne we had gotten for Christmas that was VERY good, it's been a good day.

The only thing that really ticked me off was a very BAD munchkin!! He was in trouble nearly all day! I didn't know that was even possible!!

So often a child will act up when someone else is getting the attention they think they should be getting. Infact it can even happen with adults
I am so happy hubby liked his gift and the food.
