I would put my site on it and clean up the glut of files contained on my ultra slow home comp. Of course after a hard drive was installed into the MvixBOX.

Wow I would use it for backup and to store all the images, add-on to image programs and other downloads. All things that do not need to be on your computer taking up space.

I would donate it to a small school where I live. They need it badly. With the state of Arizona cutting so much from their budget, this school could really use this system. I donate some time for them to help out. These are the kids of "our" future !!

I would send it to my older brother, over in Iraq...with some music and movies already ripped onto a hard drive. So that way his EOD crew and he could watch some movies and listen to tunes.

I'd like to see more interest in WiFi in my area. I'm surrounded by apartment buildings... so you think it would be easy: but how do you find like-minded people for a community network? Not easy, last time I tried.

I run an open access point, and in January I'm going to try again, using a free login portal to tell people about the community-Wifi idea: and as a lure I'd like to offer up a bunch of open source apps and videos to get people used to the idea of sharing with their neighbours. I was going to store everything on a dusty old Linux box: but the MvixBOX looks like it could host everything itself.

Sorry for all the links but I've had this WiFi thing in my brain for awhile now and this contest kinda pulled it all together. If I could plug it into my WiFi router and have everything mostly "just work" it would be pretty slick!

I would use it for backing up my files

Will use it as a central media server / web server. Via gigabit, it will house all my video and music files and always remain on, allowing all the pc's (and my 760HD) in my home to access all my media... can't wait to win. heh.

I'd store our family pics and home movies; as well as other movies so that my husband, whose paralyzed on 1 side and confined to a wheelchair would have something to watch other than some of the trash on TV. I already have everything cable has to offer and this would be a GREAT addition, and a great holiday gift to him.
