I got the package yesterday and have installed w7 64 bit. I only had to put on one driver..windows took care of the rest...Very easy install

yeah, ditto here. Only thing I had to fix was, for skype usage, windows didn't like my sound card. Had to replace with a vista okayed one. 10 bucks, woop de doo.

I had went to the dell site and took a wild shot..it said the driver was for vista 32 bit..I ran it anyway...it covered 32 and 64.
The yellow mark had referanced my memory card slot.

I have 2 gigs of ram and didnt expect 64 to run that great with 2 gigs....I am impressed....I will bring it up to 4 gigs when i get the chance....Its over a hundred mile round trip to the nearest place to buy ram for it

Congrats from me as well to the OP!

Running W7 Pro 64 bit here also and loving it. Though I wish MS would clean up the editioning/naming scheme a little bit.

Update
I went to 32 several days back as to access a network printer that 64 would not do
They feel about the same to me

Depending on the printer I know there are a few workarounds to your issue (I realize it's too late now). I had an older HP Deskjet with only 32-bit drivers and I was able to get it to network print from my Vista 64 machine. There was a trick related to the path you specify to locate the printer. If interested let me know and I'll see if I can figure it out again.

On a more relevant note does it seem the 32-bit version uses less RAM at startup?

I have 2 gigs of ram I can get the 32 bit to idle at 25 percent if i let it set awhile after booting
64 was a little higher if i remember right..27 or 29.

After I pop open a few apps they both climb about the same...with 64 going over the 50 percent mark a little easier
The 64 ran fine with 2 gigs..I was fairly impressed....I think it unzipped and installed apps a little faster than 32....I had expected it to run alot slower with 2 gigs of ram from what I had been reading...I made an image of 64 with my apps etc..I can go back to it easy enough..i want to go with 4 gigs first before i give it another shot though with that printer..have been watching for deals on ram
