Beachball
when i boot up my imac i get the spinning beachball i have installed 6 gig of ram but the boot seems to take forever it never happend when i first purchased the imac 4 years ago i have talked to apple tech support but they dont seem to be able to solve the problem im using lepord operating system

You haven't given us much to go on.

What steps has Apple Tech already had you gone through?

Usually first steps in these cases are:

1) Boot off the OS X DVD, start Disk Utility from the menu bar, and run a Repair Permissions on your boot HD.
2) While booting holding the shift key down to start in Safe Mode and see if there is any difference.

I have booted off the dvd and ran repair permission this was suggested by apple tech support

I also booted in safe mode this did not make any differance
