Solved: Mail for Mac Issue
Hi All

Recently logged onto my mac to check my mail using there default mail client and it would retrieve my emails for me saying the server wasnt working. I can log onto Hotmail website fine and receive my emails on my phone fine using save said server so I suspect that the MAC is the problem. Any one have any ideas of what it might be? The actual error message says the server cannot be reached on port 995.

The web access method and using an email client application access the mail in different ways, so just because web access works doesn't mean POP access via Apple Mail should.

It could be a temporary issue on Hotmail, (it happens), or they've changed security settings they are using.
Try again later or recheck the POP settings needed for Hotmail.
