Computer to tv connection
This is probably about as simple as they come...
What do I need to purchase, to display my MacBook Pro on my TV, with both audio and video?
Its a 2011 MacBook Pro.
Thanks.

And if its important, the TV is HDTV.

Apple Mini Display to HDMI Adapter
HDMI Cable(if you don't have any)

and of course a TV that support HDMI.

AND you get both video and audio.

I use airplay to my apple TV connected via HDMI to my TV.
