powermac g4 flatscreen problem
OK, here goes.

I have three G4 Power Mac Computers. The more recent model can display a flatscreen monitor perfectly;the two older ones can not. In fact, when you plug in the flat screen (Formac brand) the apple logo appears in the centre of the screen in a box around a quarter size of a normal screen, then it goes fill screen with a totally distorted blue screen.

As far as I can tell all computers have the same display settings.

Also, the Formac flatscreen did at one point work on the older computers.

Could this be something to do with an automatic update that has altered the display? Could it be that I need to find bew drivers?

Any help would be great.

I suspect your hunch is correct. Make sure you've got the correct drivers for the monitor installed on each machine.

Try setting to 1280 /1024 60 hz...that seems to be the problem on the one I have, a little box on startup, then bluescreen, then fuzz, herringbone, check pattern whatever until you can set 1280 1024 75hz..also, I have a twinview card and the formac on the ADC connector, my mouse will not appear unless i set to 256 colours! and there is a 1 inch shift to the right distortion with a 1 inch band of garbage on the left..it happens in 9 and x...everything is fine on the other screen, a vga connected Samsung 710mp.
