USB 1.1 to 2.0
Hi I recently bought and ipod mini but I only have an lime imac 266mhz tray loading version and I know that the ipod mini can indeed work with USB 1.1 but I was wondering if it would be possiable to get an external usb 2.0 hub that connect through usb 1.1 one and had a power source from the wall or something?

You can hook up a 2.0 hub, but it will only work at the 1.1 speed, because the card in the computer is a 1.1 card. You can change out the card in the computer, to a 2.0 card, and get the faster 2.0 speed (if your OS supports it)...............
Not sure if OS 8.6 supports usb 2.0, or not. May require at least OS 9xxxx. Maybe someone will chime in that knows for sure.
Good luck!

Here's one place to check.........
http://www.macmall.com/macmall/searc...18&submit1.y=7
You may have to call and find out which card fits your imac.
Also: www.apple.com check the apple store. Ask them what card you need.......
Good luck!

I have never been into an imac. I was taking it for granted that you could remove the card in it, and put another in it's place..........
If you can't, sorry 'bout that. I guess you'll have to live with the 1.1 usb...............
