Apple Remote Desktop issue
I have a strange issue I thought I'd toss out to the fellow Macheads.

I use ARD 2.2 for remotely maintaining my users systems. Most work exceptionally well.

However, I have a couple that will not respond unless there is a user logged in. Once logged in with any user, I again have full control.

I have reinstalled
I have checked power settings
I am an Admin on each box
I have called and run this by Apple.

Any clues?

John, just scanning some old threads... did ya ever solve this issue? Sorry for not looking, got under the radar. Anyhow, if not, have ya seen this: http://www.archivum.info/remote-desk.../msg00002.html

Curious, when ya called Apple, what if any advice did they give? I guess since ya are posting here, that it didn't work?

The only answer Apple had was that it's an intermittant wireless thing. Since most of the systems at all the offices are wireless, I lose the ability to, let's say, start a system. They figured it must be an offshoot of that.

Oh well, an agravation but not a huge deal.

Thanks for noticing though.
I have to say, this has become my faborite tech board very shortly. Good answers given.

Your welcome. By at least trying to help, I learn too.

Guess those port settings in that link wasn't an answer either then?

Just curious, you mention that there are a couple machines that don't respond - is there anything special/different about these, compared to the other Mac's?

nope.
The ports were opened before or the whole systems wouldn't work, at least when i am at home.

It's just a couple of systems. I have checked power settings, admin rights, rebuild permissions, etc. all the normal things.
I have reinstalled the ARD client after removing it and rebooting. <shrug>
Just one of those things I guess.

Someone is always around to bump the mouse or something for me, and if not then it waits until the user does log in.
