PC Software on New Mac/Intel
Anyone know if you purchase one of the new Apple intel based machines, if you will be able to run your existing PC software on it? (duel boot) If so, what kind of performance hits will you take?

Not to my knowledge. The OS/hardware will be "ROM locked" and not like a typical Intel box. The develpment versions have been hack to allow any current x86 boxes. Performance has been slow, but rock solid. So the long and the short, no.

the new MacIntels can have at least windows xp installed on a partition and then run windows software....and be exposed to viruses and adware as well. This was verified by Phil Schiller VP Hardware at the announcement of the MacIntel transition..........Performance will be the same as any clone with similar hardware to the MacIntel specs just whatever they may be.
