Question Playing Media On the Mac
Hi. I've just gotten a mac with OS X and I'm finding it hard to play ANY video content from web sites. I can't seem to download and open programs like windows media. What's the best I can hope for to watch video content such as clips on news sites. Nothing seems to be made for quicktime.

Windows Media Player can be found here.

But be warned that WMP really bites the big one and is less than fun to use (I'd give it a 1 on a 10 scale).

Microsoft seems to be aware of this, as they have provided a link to components that allow for WMV playback through QuickTime. Click here to go to the download page for this. It is far superior to using just the WM player supplied by Microsoft.

As for the contention that "nothing seems to be made for QuickTime" I would disagree, but there is certainly more content available in WMV format.

I highly recomend purchasinf Flip4Mac and you don't need Window's crappy player to waste space on your drive. Flip opens movies in quicktime, even WMF files. Check it out. It's worth the 20 some Dollars.
