The specs you list aren't very complete. Please go to the Apple Menu and select "About this Mac" and list everything it says, model number, CPU speed, etc. Without more information I don't think we're going to be of much help.

The hook up is easy if all is in place...What OS are you running, OS 9, OS X? If 9.0+ or X you are probably ready to go, and if an UW machine you probably have EtherNet in the back (10baseT, RJ45). Click on the browser after connected. You shouldn't have to download anything. The OS 9. software would have an Assistant to help or go to Control Panel TCP/IP, for OS X, System Preferences-Internet and Networking. Sorry Gotta go...dp

I doubt OS X will run on that.

It's hard to say without knowing what kind of processor is in the machine.

He/She just said... 133Mhz. It's an old machine. I doubt OS X will even install.

Brent: I'm not sure on the OS 9 or earlier, but the networking should be the same. All you will need to do for the cable internet connection is to set DHCP to Auto configure (or Obtain IP address automatically). Since I'm not a Mac Addict I cannot be precise about the location, but maybe under finder, look for system prefrences in the menu.

Please reread. He says 333 MHz. That was the speed of the first iMac G3, which is capable of supporting OS 9 and OS X. X might not run very well, but it, as with any other OEM G3 CPU machine, is capable of supporting it. It was also the speed of some of the last 604 processors, which are not capable of handling OS X.

Therefore, the matter of what generation of CPU (604, G3, etc.) becomes most germane to the discussion.

Oops my bad. Went to fast. Then it would probably install but I wouldn't recommend it. It doesn't run good on my work machine with OS X.

Like I said, be in Finder, then go to the Apple icon on the top bar and choose Preferences (i think). Under Networking make sure that you have DHCP enabled.
