Hi,

I have a root cert authority and underneath the name it has this alert in red:

This certificate is not in the trusted root database

I can't even recall where I saw it but it was while I was enabling a system password for my iMac G5.

I think it may be related to when I was networked to my PC which sits alongside my iMac?

Is this likely to cause any conflict within my system or is it something that's better left alone if you are fairly ignorant of these things, which I certainly am?

I don't think it's because of the Mac & PC mating.

Its a FileVault Recovery Key Root Certificate Authority and I noticed it when I created a Master Password in System Prefs>Security>Create a Master Password.

If I use Spotlight I find it in the Microsoft Cert Manager, that's why I thought it was related to networking with my PC.

What exactly is this cert doing out of place?

Should it be moved to the correct location?

Where is the Trusted Root Database anyway and how would you move a cert to it?

do you have office installed on the mac? Sorry I am slow in responding.

The G5 did come with MSOffice Suite for trial but I never really used it....

Certificates are usually for IE. Is that still on your machine? It is Microsoft whatever it is. It doesn't belong on your Mac. If the two are networked Spotlight will pick up files on any networked drive.
