I know nothing about Macs and need some help please!
Hi,
I have an aunt that has a Mac and has no idea about anything computer wise. I'm happy she can even turn it on . At Christmas a friend upgraded her computer from MacOs 10.3 to MacOs 10.4.3. All of her sites and programs are running well with the exception of one. Its our family site that we all keep in contact on. When she posts messages she is getting out of place spacing all thru out the message and the site in general is running slow for her now when it was not previously. Any idea what within the new OS would cause her to have problems with this one site imparticular? The main site is hosted by myfamily.com and our family has its own website based off that. Any help would be great! I have been no help to her as I am clueless when it comes to a Mac!

Thanks so much!
Liz

Hi Liz: Welcome to TSG.

Sounds like a web browser problem she is experiencing? What browser does she use? Safari on the Mac can sometimes display web pages differently, and I hate using IE on my Mac (and anywhere else for that matter!).

Have you tried different browsers? Firefox & Camino are both available for free from www.mozilla.org.

Hope that helps!

Opera is nice now. I would use Firefox or Opera. I hate Safari, it's slow as... well you can just imagine.

I would agree. Firefox should solve the problem. I haven't had any problems with opera, but I am a Firefox guy.

I agree about the general quickness of the above applications (Firefox and Opera), though I will point out it takes them an eternity (well, a relative eternity... I'm sure they'd take something more akin to a dictionary definition of "eternity" on lesser machines) to launch on my computers.

Of course, I've been wrong before... Once. But don't tell anyone.

Hello,
My turn for additional 2 cents worth. I have also experienced some issues with Safari on eBay. Not during normal use but when I go to list something for sale. The pictures aren't accepted through eBay's auction format sheets.
I used FireFox without a problem ?! Having same problem? Good luck with yours. Please mark as solved if above suggestions work. Thanks... dp
