Yes. It does.

I'm sure there are some out there, but I'd go with iTunes, personally. Granted, you don't get to hear the whole song (for copyright reasons), but you get to hear enough of the "meat" of a song to know if that's what you're looking for. And the price (usually $.99 per song) is low enough to make it "okay" if you download something you're
not interested in. Of course, all of this is as the state of things currently (as of March 28, 2006) stands. Apple Corps v. Apple is currently ongoing in an English court, and that may have some impact on iTunes as it currently exists. I
hope not (frankly, I don't see how a ruling in an English court would have much bearing on Apple's method(s) of operation pertaining to iTunes in other parts of the world--but my friends in England may soon have trouble accessing iTMS if Apple Corps proves persuasive in its arguments).
If your goal is, shall we say,
less than legitimate (which is
entirely possible, given certain applications' abilities to
intercept audio [edited to eliminate a word that might point a person to such an application--its
legitimate uses notwithstanding] from
other applications), there are ways to complete your stated task. But, given the laws, and their associated penalties, that exist here (the U.S.A.) and elsewhere (the rest of the known universe) I doubt (and
strongly discourage that) you'd want to open yourself up to such liability. And, if you
do, you're smart to keep it to yourself (not just regarding these fora, but in "meat life" as well). The operators of this site, as well as myself and others similarly situated, have
no interest in aiding or abetting such activity. Lest you think otherwise, let me be clear: NO implication is made by my former statements. Consider it a disclaimer of liability for what you may or may not take upon
yourself to do.
I am well-versed in the world of Intellectual Property.
That is the reason for the above disclaimers and
information. Nothing above should be taken as legal
advice, mind you. I get
paid for that.
