Mac Jobs
Sorry if I am not supposed to be doing this. I wasnt sure.
I have a friend that works with strickly MAC and LOVES the MAC. He has about 5 to 6 years of experience and is a very customer oriented guy. He moved from a position working with Macs to a position that has turned out to be horrible. Now he is having a very very hard time find employment working with Macs. Both of us are always looking on the job sites with no luck. Does anyone know of sites that is for mac employment, NY, NJ or PA.

Thanks.

Is he willing to relocate? Is he willing to acquaint himself with other OSes? I formerly worked in tech support for a music software company and could give him some contact information (that might be dated). Does he have any experience with audio recording software and hardware? That would be a MUST for this company.

Would he be willing to submit to me his curriculum vitae for perusal before I extended myself in such a manner?

Vegas asks some key questions---There are plenty of jobs in Mac tech support in many areas (in New York you could get one in five minutes if you know what you are doing). You could also look on Craig's Lists---under tech support.

He is not an Apple Specialist, nor does have any recording hardware or software. He only has experience. He is familiar with Windows but likes to specialize in Mac. I will check out Craigs List and thanks to everyone who repliied.

I guess that's a "no" to the curriculum vitae question.

As much as it pains me to say this, assure him that, unless he has specific (and voluminous) experience in the very specific areas that have historically been a Mac-driven market (desktop publishing, audio, video), or he is willing and able to put up with Windows users, he will find scant employment available.

Consider, for a moment, the auto mechanic who only has employment history relating to BMWs. Sure, his expertise can be used in other areas of automotive technology, but he only wants to work with BMWs. His opportunities will thus be severely limited. Sure, he may be lucky enough to find an opening at a BMW repair facility. But if he's not willing to look at Ford, Mazda, Saab, etc., he'll probably find his search to be pretty frustrating.
