Monitor failure - iMac
Strange to post on a forum that refers to us as 'fruity", but good to find a forum at all. Salutations of one sort or another to all.

I have a iMac, all-in-one, with a screen that looks sort of like the double helix of DNA fame. Can this be fixed? Do I need to buy a new Mac (although I have not been able to question Apple about my problem, but I was learn-ned on Apple - an Apple II . 128 RAM). I cannot get customer support on this computer, although I paid full price from an authorized dealer (3 years ago).

My screen with the double helix format is getting smaller and smaller everyday. Help??

What?
I am confused as to the precise problem that you are having. Can you clarify?

The top inch and about the bottom 3 inches of my monitor are blurred in that they seem to be twisted - like the double helix - just a few pixels twisted, so that I can still navigate on very familiar sites, but still twisted across the screen.

I think I'm asking a mute question. I was just hoping to avoid a new expense at this time. Where do I buy a new one and how do I get my old data from this one to the new one? I tried to print out the NS page with all my saved usernames and passwords, but it wouldn't print, and the way my monitor is now, I cannot read all entries.

On my old PowerMac 6100, I could take a screen shot with openapple/f3 or something like that, can I do that with an iMac(PowerMacG3)?

Thanks for your interest. From the replies I've received, this is gonna cost me...money

As always,
Truly

If you are already planning to buy a new Mac then that may be your best bet. Your new Mac will have the Migration Assistant which will transfer your files and settings to you new Mac.

Good Luck
