Problem Connecting to Wireless Network With I Book G4
Hi there,
I have an Apple I Book G4 It runs on OS X. I have an Apple Airport Wireless Card and connect to a wireless network (although it's third party. I don't use Airport to Airport). The connection worked fine for months and then it began dropping the connection on occasion. Shortly there after I wasn't able to connect at all to the wireless network. There are other computers on the same network that have no problem connecting. Additionally I have tried to connect to other wireless networks using the I Book and I have been unable to even though other computers have no problem. I have tried taking the wireless card out and putting it back in, but beyond that I'm at a loss at to even where to start. When I attempt to join a network it gives me a very basic error message that says "There was an error joining the AirPort network "Networknamehere". Any help would be much appreciated!

Check in your network settings that everything is set to Automatic. If you have it set on manual, that will explain why it's not connecting.

Wow. Don't tell my MacBook Pro that, or it might not boot into Windows any longer.

Come on, think before you post.

He still put Windows, Mac and PC. So OK, a PC runs Windows and Mac, so why do you need the PC bit?

Just a question........

Something I found in my school network (net admin) several of the most recent Apple software updates changed how some of the wireless security is processed. You may need to get the software/firmware for the wireless access points updated as well.
