Solved: EyeTV for DTT problem with hardware???
Hi, I own an iMac G5 PowerPC 2.0GHz and have been running an Elgato EyeTV DTT USB which was the little box unit and had software version 1.8.5.

I bought it in November last year and have had no problems with reception until about 2mths ago when suddenly I couldn't pick up any signal.

The message on the screen was either ... No Signal, or, Channel Currently Unavailable.

So I took it back to the Apple Store and they replaced it with an eyeTV for DTT 2.0 which is like a thumb drive, very light.

When I got home and installed the software I find that I am still having the problem with No signal or Channel currently unavailable....

I'm trying to troubleshoot this and don't know if it's a reception prob or hardware or my USB ports, which work fine with my keyboard, digi camera and printer....

Is it possible for reception to become suddenly unavailable?

I have checked the elgato ariel on my analogue tv and it works fine.

I have moved the iMac around to where I know the best reception used to be but all I can get is 1second of audio and reception before it dissapears.

I have repaired the permissions, uninstalled, reinstalled, used all the USB 2.0 ports and need some advice....

The USB 2.0 ports don't work for the DTT USB stick....work fine for camera/printer/keyboard, but not the Elgato stick....so that's trip #4 to the Applestore for my 11 mth iMac G5 PPC....

1- New Logic Board
2- New LCD
3- Another LCD replacement
4- USB2 ports faulty

This is all in the space of 4mths and I use my iMac daily..

I'm going to ask Apple to replace the mac......it's seems to like the techie too much....
