Samsung Monitor having black flashes
Well, better than hot flashes. Anyway, plugged in a new 20" Syncmaster 204 monitor into my G5 OS 10.4 tower that works great except... after a couple of hours, the screen will go black for a second, then again several minutes later. Turning the monitor off and on remedies the situation for another few hours. A salesman at Fry's Electronics told me it had something to do with the sleep mode so I set my computer to never sleep. However, it's still doing it - any suggestions?

My guess would be the problem is not with the computer, but rather with the monitor. I would recommend against going on the word of any salesman at Fry's. Talk to their repair department.
