MAC Problems
I have a number of items in Mac OS 9 which cannot be printed in OS 10. How do I transfer the data so I can print?

If you have Panther, you should have Classic environment. You can start it manually from
System Preferences and then click the Classic icon. If it isn't there, you don't have it installed.
If there, then click on Start/Stop tab and set how you want it started.

MAC Problems
I am not sure we have given you sufficient information to be able to help us. Here is some of the background information you may need. We have been running both OS 9 and OS X operating systems for about 8 months. We were not having any printer problems until recently (in the last couple of weeks). At that time I downloaded an Apple security update (according to Apple) and we have not been able to print any files from OS 9 since that download. Both the OS 9 Classic and OS X Panther operating systems are running with OS X booting first and OS 9 loading afterwards. At the time the trouble began we were using a 7-year old Epson 670 printer. We thought the printer might have failed, but we were able to print from Text Edit in OS X. None of the files in OS 9 would print. These were Word, Xcell, Outlook Express and .jpg files all of which were in OS 9. We could print from applications running under OS X such as Firefox, but that was slow and tedious and would not work for large files. So we changed out the Epson printer for an HP and nothing changed except we did not have to power-up restart the printer every time.

Now for our problem. Whenever you request that a file in OS 9 be printed, the print monitor brings up the old Epson 670 printer instead of the new HP one. Can someone please tell us how to tell OS 9 what printer we are currently using so that we can print from OS 9 ?? We have tried going to Chooser and that was no help. It does show that the printer it thinks it has is the 670, but we cannot change it. Thank you for your help. bb106

There may be a printer compatibably with OS 9. See if your HP printer is supported.
You might have your post moved to the Apple Macintosh forum.
Click the triangle at the top right of your post and ask a mod to move your post.
