Caches error
A relative of mine has a Lombard powerbook and is getting a cache ememory error message on boot. It appears the cache memory has been damaged. The computer still runs but OS 9 crashes fairly often.

1. Is this a problem he can fix himself?

2. Would going to OS X help at all or make it worse...
