I don't have much experience with Macs. But I'm wondering what remote desktop software from Microsoft it is that you're trying to use. Since Microsoft and Apple compete against each other, I'm curious as to what type of software you've found from Microsoft that allows you remote access to a Mac.

Bumping a thread that is less than 45 minutes old is bad form. If someone has an answer for you they will give it to you. Being petulant makes the odds of receiving assistance less likely. Nonetheless...

What is the file type of the file you're using to attempt installation of RDC? For some reason your computer thinks it's some sort of video file.

Perhaps I wasn't clear. I did not inquire as to your method of installation. What I am asking is what is the file type of the file you're using to attempt installation of RDC?

For clarity's sake, here is a twelve-step program to assist you in your quest:

1) Right click (or Control-click) on the file you are using to attempt installation.

2) From the contextual menu that appears select "Get Info"

3) Examine the window that appears, looking for the word "Kind".

4) Look at the word(s) to the right of that word.

5) Make a note of what the word(s) to the right of that word is/are.

6) Open your browser of choice (Safari, Firefox, Opera, Camino, Internet Explorer, etc.).

7) Direct your browser to http://forums.techguy.org.

8) If necessary, log in to the forum.

9) Navigate to the Macintosh area of the forum.

10) Click on the link to this thread.

11) Reply to this post with, at the bare minimum, the word(s) to the right of the word referred to in steps 3 through 5.

12) Sit back and wait for an answer.
