Hi bonge -- welcome to TSG.

What kind of Mac are you using? Which OS (9.0 or OS X)?

If you are using a newer Mac, you wouldn't even need to download AOL IM. You can use iChat, and it asks you right away if you want to use your AIM screen name.

Thumbs up Thank you
Yankee Rose - thanks so much

I have a mac mini 0S X and I do have ichat. I will try this tonight when I get home.

You've made my day after a very frustrating night of trying to figure out what the problem is.

Question What about MSN Messenger?
Can you use iChat for MSN messenger? I would like to have MSN on my computer, but I don't know how to get it on here.

The chat program i like the most is Adium. Can be found here. It allows you to be signed into multiple different chat protocols at once. Like aim and msn. Plus the program is very customizable.

Just a note. As AIM, Yahoo and MSN update their messenger apps, Adium needs to be updated too. Don't forget to check your version from time to time.
