Can't Import Footage with FCP 5
I've tried everything to get my Final Cut Pro to import footage from my Canon XH A1, but nothing has worked. I even bought the Apple Certified training book to no avail. What am I doing wrong?!

Hello.

Does iMovie work to import video? I ask, because if it does then we know it is not a problem with the camcorder.

What specifically is not working? Is FCP recognizing your camcorder? Are you getting any error messages?

I feel for you, because I've had problems importing video and I know it is frustrating.

Yes, I got iMovie to capture. I'm not getting any errors when trying to capture in FCP. It just doesn't give me certain options.

OK, we know it isn't the camera.

What "options" does it not give you? Does the software recognize the camera?

Found the problem. I have FCP 5.1. Only FCP 5.1.2 will accept 24f footage from my camcorder. I just need to get the update from Apple. Thanks anyway everybody.
