Microsoft’s Chris Sorenson said Apple iPhone will be irrelevant to business user
Apple’s soon-to-be-launched iPhone will be irrelevant to business users because it is a “closed device” and does not support Microsoft Office, a senior executive with the software giant said this week.

Microsoft’s Asia-Pacific head of smartphone strategy Chris Sorenson said that If you’re an enterprise and want to roll out line of business applications, it’s just not an option. Even using it as a heavy messaging device will be a challenge.”

Refer to iPhone news blog for detail information and rumors about iPhone release date.

Is this from the same Microsoft that seriously considered abandoning the Mac platform and thought of its Mac clientele as Guinea pigs for the rest of its market? I think I'll wait and see where the chips fall before putting any stock in what one person who happens to work in Redmond has to say.

Microsoft Stuff mentioned above.

I hate to say it but i can see in some ways where he is coming from, PPC's are a really usefull tool i use them, i support a few at work so i can see where hes coming from. Unless Apple will in the future do an update which will include a Pages type software with an export to word, excell etc etc function. But then i dont know much about the iPhone's functionality yet

I hate windows if im honnest but Windows Mobile has the mobile device market easily atm unfort imo

I figure that the Iphone will be most appealing to young people with disposable income. I don't see it making big gains in the business community.
