Outlook to Mac Entourage?
Greetings All...

I have some friends that made the move from PC to Mac this past Winter, and they have been having all kinds of problems. As is often the case, when friends of mine have computer issues, I get a call...

Basically, they have over 1500 contacts in Outlook (I know!!), as they are involved in several large projects, including some group contacts, and they are having difficulties getting them to transfer correctly into Entourage. We used a pc2mac program, but the group contacts did not transfer correctly. I am now seeking a more reliable program, or method. They are willing to pay to have this done, as I understand it has been a very serious issue for them. If anyone out there has ever done something similar, and can offer advice, it would be greatly appreciated!! Also, as I said before, they are willing to pay, so if you are interested in working remotely with these people, let me know.

Thanks!

One possibility is sending themselves an email with the entirety of their address book's entries copied into it (preferably as email links, not just as text).

One way of doing this is to create an email CCed to everyone in the address book, then copy/paste all the addresses in the CC: field. That copies the link, not just the text, on a Mac. Not sure about the Windows side of things. You'd think it would work.

This will be incredibly time-consuming, but will get it in there, I think. Chances are the people will have to right-click on each link, select "Save to Address Book" or whatever the option is, and then manually enter whatever information is not included in the copy.

Thanks for the response, but we are really trying to find a software-transfer fix. Time is one thing these people do not have.... and with over 1500 contacts... actually, she corrected me. it is over 2000 contacts, not to mention groups. ..

Really, the main issue is the group contacts. Outlook2mac, I am told, did a fairly good job of transferring the contacts, just not the many group contacts that she had created.
