Can't delete locked items
I transferred MP3 files off my MP3 player onto my Mac, and while I could delete them on a PC and on the player, I'm now unable to delete them from my Mac. Anyone have hints or tips on how to delete a locked file?

Have you tried holding down the "Option" key, while deleting a file?

The trash is still there and I can delete unlocked items. However, they are locked in my Music folder and won't drag to the trash. I've checked the permissions and it says that I do have read/write permissions, so I'm a bit perplexed....

I've attached a link to another forum post which contains a zip file download called Permanently Shred.zip. Just drag the file/s over the icon in your Dock and it'll ask you for permission to Shred them beyond all recognition ...

I use this quite often and it might just do the trick for you. It's also a good one to add to your bookmarks.
