RE: High CPU on G5
Please advise,

I have a user here who is using a power Mac G5, its quite a powerful machine with 3Gb ram and a dual core procossor 2.7GHz, however when he runs one particluar application the CPU usuage goes really high almost hitting the 100%

He never had this problem before and has started a few weeks back, i believe he may have installed peer to peer software but has been removed.

I have tried using various software that cleans out cache etc.. but still no joy.

Does any one have any hints or tips on how i can resolve this issue?

Regards

Can you use /Applications->Utilities->Activity Monitor and determine for sure it is this app causing the CPU issue? (I mean is it this app or a thread or another process that it activates)

Can you create a new temporary users, log in on that users and then runt hat program and see if the same problem exists?

If no, its user account specific, otherwise it system wide.
If the later, is it possible to remove that app, (and all hidden support files) and then re-install.
(Before doing that, I don't know that software so can't saw whether losing possibly saved preferences, etc is a hassle, if so don't do this.)
