Audio interface probs with apple mac
Hi all, first posting on this site so sorry if I mess it up a bit.
I am using a Mac OS X 10.4.9 and have upgraded to Garageband 4 on Ilife 08.

I was using an M audio mobile pre-usb audio interface over the last few years which was a bit iffy but generally did the job.
Since I've come back from holidays I can't get the Mac to recognise the audio interface.

I've tried a few other Macs and its the same problem. I wonder might it be the connecting cable and if so can you buy these seperately? Or...... is 2 years an acceptable life span of one of these and is it time to cough up for a new one.

Many thanks for any help in advance

It's hard to tell from the small photo on the manufacturer's website, but the USB connecting cable looks to be the standard type that is used for USB printers and/or scanners. You should be able to find one pretty easily just about anywhere for a few bucks.
