Basic Mac question
On a Mac, how can I access the PC equivalent of Device Manager? I want to know if a particular machine has a network card installed.

Select "About This Mac" in the Apple menu, then click on the "More Info" button in the window that appears. It will tell you everything you'd ever want to know about the machine you're using.

Thanks, VegasACF. My sister wants to network a PC and a Mac, and I may try my hand at making sense of it.

Also in System Preferences -> Network, that should list all possible methods of establishing network connections, whether built-in Ethernet, PCI Ethernet card, firewire connection, modem, Wireless, etc.
