macs and printing problems
Hello! This is my 1st post on this site. My friend in another state had a mac that crashed recently. She has purchased a new mac(don't know what kind), and wants to print out a copy of her address book. She is new to computers, like me, so please use simple terms. Now, when she tries to print the list, a drop down box says It needs to know what page or pages to copy? She says she can't "find" whatever page/s the box is referring to. Can u give me the basic procedure, and I will pass it on to her?
Also, I have a Gateway media center desk top, purchased 6months ago.A few months ago I started getting a box that would pop up when I start up my pc.that says "RegTool " at the top, then,a red triangle w/an ! in it, then " internal error. Unable to read local file." At the bottom of the box is an "ok" in a box. I have cox cable, windows xp, serv. pk. 2, and use Firefox for my email. Can you tell me what this means, and how to get rid of it? Thank you so much, and please forgive this meandering note! LOL confused but hopeful

make two topics for this leave the mac one here and move the other one to the hardware section.... also does she have the printers installed? Also if it says pages then type in what page she wants liek if your on a website type in page 1-5 ro if you just want 1 type in 1-1

Please ignore the second query in the Mac thread. I have reposted it ( the 2nd one) in the hard wear section. Sorry for the faux paux !!!

The mac is using Leopard and is hooked up to an epson stylus copier. Does this help?

i don't fully understand the problem you are having now with the mac...
as for deleting part of the previous post click edit and delete the second problem that you reposted in the hardware section.

My friend in another state has a new mac running leopard. Her previous mac crashed, and she lost her complete address book. She wants to PRINT a copy of the new address book and file it away in case the new computer crashes. That way she won't have to go through re-finding her addresses like the last time. She tells me a box pops up and asks her which "page/pages she wants? She hasn't a clue. I don't know anything abt. Macs. She, like me is comp. illiterate. Thank you for any suggestions------
