Old Mac G3 Question
I Think that's the model, anyways to make it short it was working fine and i hooked it up to a KVM switch and it boots with a small camera in center with a ? & a face blinking, then a grey large apple in center of screen with the pinwheel rotating icon on bottom and then monitor turns off, but mac is still rinning. Other computer on switch works fine, a windows set. I had to get converters for the keybboard and mouse so i could connect to mac via usbs, any help would be appreciated, thanks

Macs and KVM
Could be problematic if the KVM needs to be supported by the OS and the Mac OS on that G3 doesn't support it. I take it the display is also hooked to the KVM, just to be clear?

What is the OS version? That "camera" with the blinking ? is actually a representation of the original Macintosh (a "toaster" Mac that was all one piece) with the happy Mac face in its monitor. The fact that it's doing that suggests it doesn't have its startup disk set, so that it wastes time seeking one at boot time. You can correct that in System Preferences, where there is a control panel called Startup Disk.

As I think about the blank screen problem, I'm pretty sure whatever OS X version is on there just doesn't like the KVM. There might be software out there - best to check with the manufacturer for that. Also might help to update the system, if possible.
