Road Warriors? macbook air
Any road warriors out there at all?

Just after thoughts an opinions of, yes you guessed it, the Air.
I currently have a 12" Powerbook, and does a great job. tasks such as illustrator, photoshop, etc can get a bit problematic and the machine chugs, so im thinking of getting an Air.

Now, before you cry, get a macbook pro, i often have to carry around my machine around a city, when i travel, and the weight problem is an issue, my back KILLS after carrying it around all day with other stuff in my back pack. The other issue is no removable battery, although there is talk of third parties making this available.

Also looking for some form of 3G / Edge network adapter that i can use whilst i travel.
I have an iphone which is great for emails, but full on documents can be troublesome and i often have to find a SUBSPOT to broadcast/mail from, bah!

its about time our cities got truely wireless really hehe

I was wondering if anyone has switched to an Air, and would love to hear thoughts.

Hi 8corehero:

Would the Air be your only system then?

From what I've read, the general consensus among Mac users seems to be that it is a good system for what you intend to do but that it isn't recommended to be your primary system.

If you do get one, let us know. I'd love to hear your review.

the air seems pretty cool..
but theres a few problems that would make me never own one..
1. its to slow
2. no cd drive... although i don't use mine much... when i do i need it and cant mess around with other devices.
3. not enough usb ports.. and the one that it does have is kind of recessed under the case which makes some of the bigger usb devices like flash drives be incompatible with this without using a usb extender cable.

I don't have one but know several people that do. If it is going to be your only computer I would consider the Macbook or Macbook Pro instead. All in all it's a great laptop, just make up your mind what you're going to buy BEFORE you pick one up in your hands, because holding the MB Air is very addicting The only real downside is that it has no Firewire, but you may not need that anyway. It is very fast and the screen is excellent. You can add on a CD drive if you wish, but you probably won't have to. I'd use it without one first, and then see if you feel you need one or not. Most people get along just fine without it using the 'Remote Disc" feature. Congratulations on whichever laptop you pick
