Safari - - Yankee Rose
yankee Rose - - I'd like to use Safari as a search engine some times but everytime I click on its icon in the dock, all I get is Apple advertising !!!!!

How do I use Safari in a search mode like I can with Firefox or Twocows etc...

Thanks

Are you saying you want to change your default home page in Safari from the Apple.com page to some other page? Safari itself won't be your search engine but you can access several other search engines, like Google or Yahoo!, using Safari. You can follow these instructions to set your desired home page in Safari.

This page will be the page that loads each time you start Safari.

EDIT: I'm sorry, you were looking to Yankee Rose to respond to your question. I didn't realize "Yankee Rose" in your thread subject was requesting that forum member. Sorry, YR.

Peace...

No need to apologize tomdkat! Glad you were here to answer the question!!

airforce16764: When you click Safari, the "advertising" that you refer to is Apple's home page (www.apple.com). As tomdkat said, you can change that to whatever you like.

Safari does have the search engine Google as an option you can place right in your toolbar. Just click View > Customize Toolbar and you will see Google as an option. All you have to do is click and drag it to your toolbar.

Hope that helps!
