G4 white screen
Hey

I have a G4 power mac. When i switch the machine on, it stops at a white screen. And then nothing happens. I then unplugged the HDD to put in into my XP machine to backup the data, but then i saw that the disk was not "initialized" and that it is "unallocated". Does this mean that the drive was wiped somehow? If so and all is lost must i create a new fat/fat32 partition and try to reinstall OS X? Its the first time i work on a mac, so any help would be appreciated.

Thnks

ok, i got as far as to get into the installation with the OS X disk but when it tries to install it say it has errors. When i try to partition the drive it says it can't unmount the current drive. Any suggestions?
