Solved: I run windows inside of Mac, loaded up Skype and..
Gah!

I just got a notification that I have malware in windows? I'm wondering if this is real. I am a n00b with the mac mini (leopard) so I don't know.

Here's what I see:

Were you running Windows at the time you got that notification? I'm not sure if Bootcamp allows running Windows concurrently with OS X or if it just allows dual-booting.

If you were NOT running Windows, that message you got via Skype is probably bogus BUT could be indicative of some kind of Skype issue you might want to investigate. I don't know if Skype has been exploited to spread malware or anything.

I'm a Linux user and have visited at least one site that informed me I had a virus installed on my Windows system that I needed to get cleaned off immediately. Of course, that site didn't make sure I was actually running Windows before informing me of the infection.

Peace...

It's definitely bogus - I went to the link shown and after doing an insanely fast "scan" (about 15 seconds) it said my Mac running Leopard (with NO Windows whatsoever) was infected with several viruses, among them "Backdoor:Win32/NTRoot." When you click on the "Repair" link, it offers to sell you antivirus software for $20. Just ignore it.

Also, be sure NOT to respond to that Skype address. I think there's an option to block them as well.
