Solved: IBook G4 drove off the road and crashed...
The IBook is the newer of the two G4's we have. The PowerBook G4 is soldering on okay.
Tonight, the IBook was left in running mode with the screen saver in operation. It is plugged into an ISDN line, and it was sharing it's internet access from the Ethernet through the airport. After about an hour, I returned to find the IBook frozen with a single screen saver on the screen. I moved the mouse and looked to see if it was asleep, and it wasn't. It wouldn't respond at all. I had already put the PowerBook to sleep, earlier.

Since all else failed, I held down the power button until it shut down. Now it won't come back up. It powers up to a gray screen and stays there. Once I got small print in the upper left hand corner and said something like this: "Welcome to Firmware .........."
"To boot to Mac, type mac-boot and press return or
type shut-down and press return."

I typed mac-boot and pressed return and it went back to the gray screen and didn't do anything. I forced it to shutdown and rebooted several times and nothing is working.

Does anyone have any ideas or advice???

Thanks

Scott

Update of how this Crash problem got fixed
After letting the IBook G4 "rest" for awhile, I came back to it and pushed the power button and viola it booted up just as usual.

I have NO IDEA why it froze up and then wouldn't boot up for awhile.
