Question Printing Help
Hey Everyone,
My brother-in-law has a Macbook running Tiger that he got last Christmas. He has a HP printer 1200 series hooked up. We are wondering how to change the print quality to fast draft, or best ect. Under the area where it says "copies and pages", in the drop down menu there are options such as 'cover page', 'safari'. There is one option that is greyed out with a line through it, it has something like the name of the printer. When you try to select it, it says that the drivers might need to be updated or installed or something along those lines. Would this be the option where you would choose to change the print quality settings? If so, should we just try going to the HP website and updating the drivers?
Thanks for any help.
It's greatly appreciated.

From that drop down menu, you want to select Print Settings and then change the quality there. You very well may need the printer drivers installed to be able to see this option. Head to HP's website and download/install the latest and greatest driver for your printer.

Hope that helps.

Hey,
Thanks for your reply. Next time I see my brother-in-law, I'll let him know that he needs to install the driver. So, would it be normal that the printer would still print things without the driver? It allows us to print, but everything always comes out in best quality.
Thanks again

Here is what the list of options look like, I went on the HP website to try to update the drivers for the printer. It is a HP psc 1210 all-in-one. The site says that the drivers are included in OS X 10.4 so it would be pointless to update the driver. So, here is a snapsot of what the options are, and the message that comes up.

I have attached some pictures
