Mac Mini?
Right been considering about getting a mac for a few months now. The only things I use a PC for is the net, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Flash and World of Warcraft and these would be all I would use the mac for. Will they run on a mac mini? I'm aware I would have to get the mac versions and that my current PC versions wouldn't work. But do they have the power to run them?

I've settled on the mac mini, Question one, 1.83GHz or 2GHz is there much of a difference apart from about £80? Also Its £55 to upgrade from 1Gb to 2Gb I really think this will make a massive difference especially trying to play warcraft with just shared graphics. But why is it so much for 1Gb of ram?

There's some difference, but it might not be noticeable. The 2GHz will run a little faster.

Retailers are free to charge what they want, including Apple. They're overpriced, it's the sad truth
(btw, get the 2GB if you can afford it)

I never played WoW before, so I'm not sure what kind of graphics chip it requires. Mac Mini uses an integrated graphics chip, iMac uses an independent graphics chip.

Here's some stats to help you:
Adobe Photoshop can run with either graphics chip

Adobe Premiere (video editing program) *might* run with either, but it's highly recommended to have an independent graphics chip. An integrated chip would make the program run very slow, if at all.

Also, all Intel-based Macs can dual-boot using BootCamp (comes with Leopard)
If you have a Windows installation disc (XP SP2 -or- Vista), you can use your Windows programs on a Windows partition.

Meh I don't want an iMac i have a nice samsung TV for the display.

Yeah I was defiantly going with 2GB it just seemed a hell of a lot to pay.

I think I'll got with the 2GHz as it has the DVD writer, 1.83 only has CD writer.

I use Lightwave 3D but I'd use my main PC for that. Just 2D design and web stuff I need it for.

All the other stuff you mentioned "Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Flash" should run just fine on a Mac Mini. I'm just not sure about World of Warcraft. If you have an Apple store near where you live, I'd suggest asking an Apple rep if it will work with WoW.

You are going to have to turn down the resolution and options but it might just be playable.
(Depends on what you find acceptable, but won't be great.)

Buy your memory from another source. It simple to put in and will save you $$$

I don't mind over-charging, but Apple gouges on memory prices.
