Upgrade to OS X
Good Day Doctors,

I have a G4 (AGP Graphics) thats running OS 9. I would like to install the OS X v10.4.
Questions:
1) Do I have to make sure the current OS is up to date with drivers before installation?
2) What is the minimum amount of ram that can be use?

Thanks in Advance

1. You should upgrade to 9.2.2 (I think that was the last one); it is very stable.

2. I had an eMac with 512 MB RAM and it ran OS X 10.4.11 just fine. I sold it to my son and his family, and they use it every day. Works well.

Thanks for the info. There are some steps I just realized I have to take before upgrading this system:

1) I can't get online, my provider says I'm missing drivers.
2) The DVD drive works, but the button doesn't. I can get around the eject button for now. I'll just replace it after this system is up and running.

I have the Power Mac G4 Software Restore CD. If I run this CD will the information needed for the internet be installed?
