Unhappy Printer Problems
okay I am working with an HP Photosmart C4180 printer. I could print yesterday and then it went offline and trying to get it set back up a message came up to reset printer settings - so i did - now my Mac Book 3.1 version 10.5.6 won't recognize the printer at all. I use a USB. I lost the install CD. I got the software off of HP website - It installed but still wouldn't recognize my printer in the setup Assistant and shut it up saying my printer was not supported. I tried to get on the phone with HP but kept getting disconnected. HELP!!! The printer is also not coming up under the USB bus in my system profiler at all!

Anna

If the device is not showing up under system profiler then i believe the the computer is not recognising it

Try using a diff cable or powercyle ur computer once.Hope u have connected printer directly to computer not thru an USB hub. Also u can try doing a PRAM reset

and i believe u have downloaded this driver:
