Hello again:

Does this also occur when you press the power button (for at least 10 seconds) to shut down?

Try verifying/repairing permissions: Mac HD > Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility. Select your HDD and first Verify, then Repair permissions.

Check System Preferences > Energy Saver > Sleep and make sure the settings are on "Never". Under Options, make sure "Allow Power Button to Sleep Computer" and "Start Automatically After a Power Failure" are NOT checked.

Disconnect any USB peripherals (aside obviously from your mouse or keyboard) and see if it still happens.

Hope that helps.
