Snow Leopard won't recognize printer The HP 1020 laser jet supposedly was never built for Mac support. But I was using it in Leopard with the driver for the 1022, When I upgraded to Snow Leopard, it quit working. I entered/deleted files and entire folders i in following several online "workarounds" to get the 1020 working again, but to no avail.
NOW, the Photosmart 5180, which WAS being recognized in Snow Leopard , is not. It appears in the System preferences Printer&Fax screen, and it shows that it already has a printing queue, but when I try to print a document, the printer screen pops up shwoing "no printer selected."
have repeatedly added the printer through the Print and Fax pref window, reset the printing system, and downloaded and installed the new, updated Snow Leopard drivers. I have also repaired the disk, and repaired the disk permissions.
Despite all this, the printer appears it Print and Fax prefence window, but will not allow me to add it so I can print a document.
Anything I can do short of re-installing OS X?
Thanks. |
