Unhappy Solved: New IMac Prob?
Just bought new w/10.6 Snow Leopard. Cmptr store transferred my old files. When home booted fine. Tried to download updated Firefox + other items = said I had not authority to do so. Transferred all desk top icons to trash. Tried to empty trash = said I had not authority to do so. Checked accts for locked security, etc. Reentered my codes = still no change. Tried to shutdown = no luck. Force quit all items and manually unplugged. Boot back up to Apple icon and twirling icon = nada for anything else. Tried the option key/boot; option/command/P/R boot = SAME.

HELP!!! Thanks so much for anything!!!

duseeedus, I would try contacting the store you bought the iMac from, this may be the quickest way to solve your issues ... something definitely is wrong and the techs that set up your new iMac may need to know the problems you are encountering.

Hope you solve this quick

Serge_N_Gin: Thank you for your help/advice. Did take it back to orig. store today, they ran diagnostics - some weird/diag. loads (they said + incompat. software), reset it, found all orig. info there, deleted offending files/programs & I am 'up & running' again. Funny how you don't think much about not having a 'puter' till its not there... Thank you again, and thanks so much for the TECH SUPPORT GUY!!! Rah, Rah, Rah!!!!! Thank you Guys!! and Gals!!!
